introduction to Nepal family adventure holiday
Nepal is a magnificent, diverse country, home to some of the most spectacular mountain scenery and friendliest people. With the chance to go river rafting we begin the trip with a sense of adventure. At Chitwan there is fantastic game viewing, canoe rides, jungle walks and the opportunity to join an elephant at bathtime. A trip to Nepal would not be complete without experiencing its wonderful mountain scenery so we embark on a fun but moderate trek to Panchase Hill, where fantastic scenery is guaranteed. Our experienced and fully trained trekking crew carry all the luggage plus tired children if needed!

small group family holiday
This is a 'small group family adventure' - typically you will join several other families and travel in a group of approx. 16 people. The trips are great value and a great way for you and your children to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of time to yourselves. Most adventure kids tend to be aged between 7 and 15, but some are younger (minimum age is usually 5) and some older (perhaps travelling as part of a larger family group). Please check with the operator to confirm the minimum age for this trip how this holiday makes a difference

As a long serving operator to the Himalayas we are extremely well equipped to operate this trip is such a way that reduces impacts on the ground and to give as much back as possible to the local communities As part of this trip you will be able to visit the Narva Kiran orphanage. Since 2002 we have supported the orphanage in various ways, with our staff helping with renovations and taking the kids out for picnics in our own expedition vehicles. Unfortunately in the later part of 2004 it became clear that the orphans were in danger of losing their home and so we embarked on a much bigger project to help provide a new and long term roof over their heads.
Whilst on this trip you will also be able to visit the Chitwan National Park. By paying to enter this National park you are helping to conserve the destination and the local elephant population. We have had a long-term relationship with the operator thereby stabilising the income generation and creating a more sustainable future. All of our Nepalese leaders are extremely concerned and are always involved in responsible tourism. Once out there you will see that much of the project work done by our selves and other companies are more often than not driven by the local leaders. We have worked with our operator to help train staff in all aspects of their jobs, thereby investing in the people to help improve their knowledge and future prospects. This included Responsible Tourism training. We use predominantly locally owned and run mountain lodges on this trip. This contributes directly to the local communities as local staff are employed and locally produced and sourced goods are bought for the accommodation benefiting the wider community. Whilst on this trip you may have the chance to see one of our new solar cookers in action. We are helping lodges and Tea houses, all over the Himalaya region, in stall solar cookers to use along side there existing methods. These stoves dramatically reduce the amount of electricity and fire wood used, with immediate benefits for the local communities. We have at our offices worked to reduce our carbon footprint through a reduction of energy use and energy conservation measures. We also actively reduce the waste produced by having active reduction and recycling policies in place. We run annual staff workshops on Responsible Tourism. Global warming is a reality and to help you make a difference by reducing the carbon dioxide that is produced when you travel we offer a chance to carbon balance your flights. We encourage all our clients to do this and do so for all our staff travel. Go on do your bit! |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
