introduction to Honeymoon in Brazil & Uruguay

13 days honeymoon trip in Brazil and Uruguay

Stylish Luxury Hotel in Ipanema (3 nights): Set against a stunning backdrop of mountains, lagoons and beaches, Rio is a place to both relax and enjoy the pleasures of city life. Being based here ourselves, we are uniquely positioned to get you closer to the residents and their culture; we are on hand to help you, from organising samba lessons and speedboat trips, to explaining local etiquette and where the locals go to enjoy authentic live music.

Vitor, (a Rio local himself) will arrange a day to give you a personalised luxury city tour, showing you those hidden details often missed by the conventional tours.

We then stop at an excellent local restaurant for lunch before visiting the ‘must see’ attraction of Christ the Redeemer.

You stay in a luxury hotel on Ipanema beach, where you have our favourite room that looks out across the beach. Based in the most glamorous neighbourhood of the city, you're only walking distance from the best shops, bars and restaurants Rio has to offer.

Boutique Pousada on the Costa Verde (4 nights): Your pousada is set in this truly unique location, nearby to the enchanting colonial town of Parati a UNESCO world heritage site and is of the highest quality. It combines beautifully the relaxation and activity that the area has to offer. This is a genuine fishing village where locals (although extremely friendly) are concerned with fish and not tourists. All this makes for a fabulous look at the real Brazil where you get a genuine feel for the people, culture and the country.

The owner of your Pousada, Emmanuel is the perfect host, who knows his guests needs as much as he does the area, and is never short of ideas for you. Your days can be spent on the many superb beaches and islands of the area, relaxing in the refreshing natural pools, at the waterfalls, or in Parati, all of which can be easily accessed by foot, boat or jeep, providing of course that you aren’t trekking in the jungle or horse riding in the mountains. Whichever you choose be sure to enjoy the sunset at a beach restaurant on one of the many uninhabited islands. We’ll make sure you access the best the area has to offer.

Stylish Boutique Hotel in José Ignacio (5 nights): When those ‘in the know’ talk about Punta Del Este what they really mean is José Ignacio; a small fishing village that has become frequented by the rich and famous for its laid back, unpretentious cool. This is the hotspot of South America where fashion icons and Hollywood stars mix with the refreshingly unphased locals. As a result there is a unique mixture of high quality restaurants and relaxed rustic bars in this wonderfully tranquil atmosphere.

You stay in a stylish hotel (one of only two in the village) with a beautiful pool area with wet bar and excellent but unobtrusive service. The beach, just 40 yards from the hotel, is beautiful and unspoilt; the perfect place to relax. Kite surfing, windsurfing and horse riding along the beach can also be organized.
tailor made holiday
This trip can be tailormade to create a unique holiday for your individual requirements by travel experts with intimate knowledge of the destination. It is a more luxurious trip that will suit those who enjoy immersing themselves in new cultures and environments before relaxing in comfort in some of the best and most characterful local accommodation! Quality and value are the hallmark of these trips.
how this holiday makes a difference
We employ local people as guides for your tours, transfers and many other things. Employing local people will allow you to step out of the tourist bracket, and discover much more of this city than usually possible. Equally important to us, because of how much the business and the clients gain from them is giving these locally sourced staff the opportunity to earn money, improve their English and show off their home to you. They are immensely proud people, making them extremely good at their job, energetic and fun. They will help you experience the unique food and drink, culture and heritage, and their fantastic attitude to life.

Your pousada on the ‘costa verde’ provides a vital revenue stream for the people of this small fishing village, where all staff and their family members live. The pousada is perfectly integrated into its surroundings and due to its size, does not upset the balance of this small community, where life goes on as it has done for generations. All food and materials are sourced from the village where possible; the fish for dinner will have been caught by fishermen earlier that day and vegetables come from local gardens.

Part of the cost of your holiday goes towards the planting of 20 hard wood trees in the Mata Atlantica, under the guidance of R.E.G.U.A. (Reserva Ecologica de Guapi Assu) who protect one of the last stands of primary tropical rainforest left in the severely depleted Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
