the amazing things you'll be doing
This tour is a unique combination of diverse India. We will be visiting Goa known world over for its great beaches and then to Rajasthan to witness the colourful Land of maharajas known for its great palaces, monuments, forts and culture. The best way to explore Goa is to be on your own and visit different beaches every day, however our hotel staff will assist you on daily basis. The Rajasthan section is with local guide & full assistance.

Beaches of Goa are the highlights of travel in this state, thus Goa the premier beach vacation destination. The first beach stop over in Goa is Anjuna beach also famous for its flea market and rave parties, then the Baga and Dona Paula beaches that can make any beach holiday a memorable one. 100-km long coastline gives an enthusiastic beach lover an opportunity to discover new secluded beach sites every day.

The magnificent scenic beauty and the architectural splendours of its temples, churches and old houses have made Goa a firm favourite with travellers around the world. Panaji (Panjim) is the state capital located on the banks of the Mandovi river and Vasco, Margao, Mapusa and Ponda are the other major towns.

The vast green expanse of the Sahyadri mountain range ensures that Goa has an abundance of water. The sea and rivers abound in seafood - prawns, mackerels, sardines, crabs and lobsters are the most popular with the locals and the visitors. Goan cuisine is a blend of different influences the Goans had to endure during the centuries.

travelling with a local operator
This holiday is operated by a company based in the holiday destination and they will be able to provide expert local knowledge. They will be able to tailor make your holiday to suit your requirements not only concerning the dates of travel but also typically the standard of accommodation, and thus price. It is rare for local operators to be able to help with the booking of your flights.
how this holiday makes a difference
This tour is very carefully designed by the local travel specialist many of whom have converted their heritage buildings into a hotel now. All drivers are local in the Goa and Rajasthan sector. We use local owned and staffed restaurants and accommodation.

The hotel which we are using in Goa is just a ground and one floor building which gives it a very personal, relaxed and private feeling instead of staying in a multi floor hotel.

We use only local guides as we feel that in Rajasthan one should have a local guide who can share his knowledge with the tourist as, in India the culture, caste and the language changes every 100km, and it becomes necessary to have local guides everywhere.

All our accommodations which we have carefully chosen are environmentally friendly and use CFL lamps for lighting to save electricity. Many of our accommodation grow their own vegetable for their daily needs in their own gardens and most of the Heritage hotels recycle waste water for gardening purposes.

On this trip we support an NGO called Jagrit who are involved in giving education, accommodation, clothing and food to small children who are found begging in railway stations. An amount of £5 per person goes to this NGO.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
