Cuba is a beautiful island surrounded by sandy beaches, coral reefs and blue waters. It has a very specific vibration of its own - the Cuban people show a playfulness and a joy which is remarkable. They celebrate life with humor, love and passion. The nature on Cuba is still very pure, the people a discovery, which make Cuba still the most interesting destination of the Caribbean. Traveling in Cuba is an eye and heart opener, suitable for couples, honeymoons, friends and families alike.

The program is for couples, diving honeymoon, families, friends traveling as a group and single travelers. Alternative beach accommodations & diving locations are e.g. at Isla de Juventud, Cayo Largo del Sur, Cayo Ensenachos (the most exclusive key of Cuba), Cayo Santa Maria, Cayo las Brujas.

Price includes all hotel accommodations with breakfast, diving sessions mentioned in program (see below), host services, private excursions, booking of casa particulares, excludes car rental, international flights and homestays, which are paid directly to the local house owners (for 2009: 25-35 USD per night per room). Ask for a customized trip & quotation for a Cuba holiday by bus or rental car. When you decide to book for a travel with rental car, we offer car rentals for special prices. These are the best possible prices you will be able to find and your host accompanies you to the car rental agency on the day of pick up.

The accommodation is based on boutique hotels mixed with carefully selected casas particulares (B&B with Cuban families). In Trinidad you stay in a casa particular according to this sample itinerary, but you could also stay in the best hotel there is: Trinidad Iberostar Grand Hotel (4 star boutique, colonial style hotel downtown, with the ambiance of 5 stars). day-by-day itinerary
Day 1:Arrive Havana. Arrival Havana, reception by host, transfer with taxi to Hotel Sevilla (4 star boutique, colonial hotel in the middle of Habana Vieja with swimming pool).
Day 2:Explore Havana. In the morning private guided tour on foot through the old city center of Havana. In the midday optional excursion of 2 hrs with classic American cabriolet through the city visiting the Faro (lighthouse), Malecon, the Embassy quarter (Miramar), Plaza de Revolucion, with a Coppelia icecream in Vedado.
Day 3:Viñales. Pick up rental car & drive to your homestay with a Cuban family in Viñales. Optional extension half day private guided walk through the valley of Viñales and experience the tobacco culture.
Day 4:Maria La Gorda. By car to Maria La Gorda, the best international scuba diving center of Cuba, and the 4th best diving center of Latin America. You stay in a room with seaview, if requested on time, hotel Maria la Gorda.
Day 5-7:Diving. Three days full for diving sessions & beachlife. Included in price are 2 diving sessions during the day & one night session (total of 7 sessions per person on basis of 2 diving persons).
Day 8:Las Terrazas. By car to Soroa, Las Terrazas, and stay at the boutique hotel la Moka (with swimming pool), beautifully integrated with nature and considered as the most beautiful hotel of West Cuba.
Day 9:Explore mountains Soroa. Wizard's trail, a full day private guided excursion through the tropical mountains of Soroa with lunch at a farmers place in the middle of the tropical forest, visit to a small school in the mountains included, Hotel la Moka.
Day 10:Playa Giron. By car to Playa Giron, off the main route to Cienfuegos & Trinidad, with a dive in Pigs Bay, Zapata Peninsula. You have a stopover at Cueva de los Pesces where you have one dive included in the Bahia Cochinos (Pigs Bay) or in the cave near the restaurant. Time to lunch afterwards. Overnight in casa particular Playa Giron.
Day 11:Diving & beach. One full day for diving sessions & beachlife at Caleta Buena, Playa Giron. Included are 2 diving sessions during the day. (optional is to take one night session pp extra).
Day 12:Trinidad. Drive to Trinidad, free midday Trinidad. Casa particular with Cuban family, all nights Trinidad.
Day 13:Sierra Escambray. Excursion into the tropical mountains of Sierra Escambray. Transfer into mountains to Hacienda Codina, first with your own car, pick up private guide at Topes Collantes, and then on foot deep into mountains to Hacienda Codina. On the hacienda you will have a typical lunch on the hacienda. And after lunch you make an easy roundwalk through the orchid garden, visit a bat cave, viewpoint & bamboo garden. Very nice place to be. And in late midday back to Trinidad again by truck out of the mountains, and later on with your own car. Alternatives, or for extra days: Full day Catamaran group excursion to tropical island Cayo Leguano with snorkeling, beachlife, time for exploration island and fish lunch. An easy day for complete relaxation! Or: a horseback excursion of 2-6 hours, or even several days (as you wish) in Valle Ingenios, Sugarmill Valley.
Day 14:Havana. Drive back to Havana, eg through the Sierra Escambvray to Santa Clara and visit the Che memorial, drop off the car. Hotel Sevilla (4 star boutique, colonial hotel in the middle of Habana Vieja with swimming pool).
Day 15:Havana & depart. Free morning Havana, transfer out in midday to international airport, depending on flight schedule.
