the amazing things you'll be doing
If you want to experience the best of southern Africa in six action-packed days, then this adventure will spirit you away to remote game reserves where you'll feel like you've stepped into a nature documentary. Try to spot elephants frolicking in the Chobe National Park and look out for the Big Five in South Africa's famed Kruger. Cruise the Chobe River, and marvel at the mighty Victoria Falls on this action packed adventure. From hippo spotting to camping in the wild, it's all on offer on this trip through southern Africa's iconic attractions.
day-by-day itinerary
Day 1:Johannesburg. Discover the heart of South Africa and perhaps stop by Mary Fitzgerald Square to soak up the Newtown vibe. Alternatively arrive early to visit nearby Soweto and learn about South Africa's recent history.
Days 2-3:Kruger National Park. Continue on to the massive Kruger National Park. Try to spot the Big Five - lions, elephants, Cape buffaloes, leopards and black rhinos - plus other iconic African animals. There's also a chance to take a safari after dark to try and catch sight of nocturnal predators.
Day 4:Polokwane Game Reserve. Head straight from one wildlife haven into another, travelling to the Polokwane in time for a late afternoon safari. Look out for the rare white rhino and exotic antelope species including the sable and eland.
Day 5:Nata region. Botswana is a great place to see the rural life of cattle herders.
Day 6:Chobe National Park. The lush plains and forests of this game reserve are home to an estimated 120,000 elephants. Hippos and crocodiles keep cool in muddy swamps, and a leisurely cruise along the river is a good way to try and spot them. Look out for powerful fish eagles, the vibrant plumage of kingfishers as well as baby elephants having a bath.
Day 7:Victoria Falls/Livingstone. Go wild in Livingstone, Zambia's adventure sports capital and the gateway to the raging waters of Victoria Falls. Meaning 'the smoke that thunders', its incredible spray is a must-see. For extra exhilaration, take an optional flight over the falls in a helicopter, charter plane or micro-light.

how this holiday makes a difference
For every week that our passengers spend in Africa, we plant a tree in Kenya through the Woodlands 2000 Trust, a local NGO. The Woodlands 2000 Trust is a wonderful project that provides seeds and seedlings with planting materials as well as land-planning, tree survival and woodlot management services. It aims to increase reforestation and bio-diversity in semi-arid regions, and also to create sustainable and profitable tree products micro-industries that contribute to alleviating poverty.

We believe strongly in low impact tourism and so during this trip we use existing locally owned facilities and camp ground such as the one used in Kruger National Park. By using locally owned and run facilities we are helping the local communities that we visit.

Through choosing to travel with us you are assisting local businesses, job creation, cultural development programs and various environmental groups. Some of the various projects we are proud to support are: The Rally to Read which invests in the improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the teaching of literacy skills in rural schools throughout South Africa, and the Chipgingale Wildlife Sanctuary based in Bulawayo Zimbabwe.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
