the amazing things you'll be doing
If you've tried coasteering once before and loved it, or if you know that the unique combination of waves, cliffs, and salt water is going to have you hooked on coasteering then this is just the event for you. On this endorphin blasting coasteering weekend we'll give you the opportunity to:
Coasteering originated when early climbing pioneers traversed rocky sea cliffs – now it's proving to be THE ultimate coastal adventure.
Kitted up in a wetsuit, helmet, and buoyancy aid you get the chance to explore the coastal National Park at sea level. You'll find yourself swimming into sea caves, climbing up through natural rock arches, flinging yourself from towering vertical rock faces, and perhaps even swimming with Atlantic grey seals.
Whether the sea is flat calm and reflecting the suns rays like a mirror, or raging and boiling as the waves pound the cliffs base, a superb coasteer can be guaranteed, with the emphasis on cliff jumping, wave dodging and rock traversing shifting according to the conditions; no two coasteers are ever the same.
So – if you've 'been there, done that' with white water rafting and bungee jumping you'll find that coasteering the Pembrokeshire coastline provides a new and refreshing slant on adventure.
Our new bar and dining area has a pool table and an incredible music system, the PV bar is well stocked with a wide range of tipples to suit everyone, including local and organic brews. We serve tasty meals, and tea, coffee and cold drinks are available to help yourself to at all times. Our food is home cooked, wholesome and delicious, and special diets are happily catered for. We have a patio area; perfect for warm summer evenings or for watching the beautiful sunsets, or you can enjoy beers around a blazing bonfire in our sheltered garden for awe inspiring nights out under the stars.
A home from home - The lodge accommodates up to 38 people and has an atmosphere of homeliness and comfort. If you want to sample the local village pub, in the small and friendly hill top village of Mathry, it’s just a short walk from the lodge and will give you a real taste of rural Welsh life. From here you can look out over the Preseli Hills; the source of the ‘bluestone’ of Stonehenge.
We hold the Welcome Host Silver award and we are committed to offering you the highest standards of service and the happiest and most comfortable adventure break. Your stay at with us will be coordinated by a dedicated adventure event manager who will be involved with your initial enquiry and will attend to every detail during your stay with us - right through to waving you goodbye.

Since so much of the time spent coasteering is on, near or in the water – one cannot help but develop an awareness of the nature of the relationship between ourselves and our unique coastal zone environment. With this in mind, each coasteering session includes the opportunity to hear more about the wildlife that populates our rocky shores.
We ensure that our impact on the coastline is as positive as possible, working in conjunction with the local authorities to ensure that specific areas of the coast remain untouched, and by carefully managing the traffic along our shore in the most sustainable way possible. In view of its long term commitment to remaining an economic force for the sustainable use of wilderness areas, we have adopted their local beach through the Marine Conservation society, and undertake regular beach cleans and monitoring of the shore environment. To try to maximize the 'low impact' nature of our trips we endeavor to use adventure venues close to our base – we accept that we often have to travel short distances in our bus – and in view of this we opt to utilize bio diesel, in the form of recycled chip oil! We are a founder member of the Pembrokeshire Outdoor Charter group, and by following the Pembrokeshire Marine Code we ensure that your adventure activities do not damage the environment, or disturb the wildlife. Our adventure guides will explain the concept of the code at the start of your adventures, and the guidelines will be followed throughout. All of our adventure guides live locally, and will be able to share their extensive knowledge or the flora and fauna of the coastline with you, and will be able to offer you the chance to get a real feel for this beautiful stretch of coastline. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
