day-by-day itinerary
| Day 1: | Arrive Seattle. Arrive into Seattle and transfer (not included) to our gateway hotel at your leisure. Rest of day to relax and prepare for your adventure. Meals: Paid locally. Accommodation: Hotel included |
| Day 2: | Olympic National Park. After departing Seattle we go straight to the heart of Olympic National Park. Here we will hike amongst the peaks of the Olympic Range for a bird's eye view of the stunning landscape. We'll journey deep into old growth forest to visit flowing waterfalls and pristine lakes. After our hikes, we will return to our comfortable lodge and enjoy a soothing soak in Sol Duc Hot Springs. The natural pools are perfectly heated and provide us a warm welcome for the first few days of this northwestern adventure. Meals: Paid locally. Accommodation: Lodge included |
| Day 3-4: | Olympic National Park. With ample time to explore over these two days, you will be amazed at how lush and thick the forest has become. And just when you think you've seen it all, we'll watch the waves crashing on the western shore, before a guided walk through the Hoh Rain Forest. One of the few temperate rain forests remaining in the world, the Hoh Rain Forest is also the largest. Meals: Paid locally. Accommodation: Lodge included |
| Day 5-7: | Mount Rainier National Park. Anticipation builds as we make our way to the tallest of the Cascade Peaks, Mt Rainier and the beautiful national park surrounding it. Many hikes will be on offer considering there are over 300 miles available on the parks' network of trails, from easy walks through the forests to heart pounding climbs up to the mountain's glaciers. Of course just relaxing at the scenic lodge cafe; capturing those 'perfect' photo shots or visiting the information centre are also options. Meals: Paid locally. Accommodation: Lodge included |
| Day 8: | Seattle. Leaving the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula and Mt. Rainier in the rear view mirror, we journey back to Seattle, home of the famous Pike Place Market, Space Needle, countless microbreweries and the original Starbucks. Meals: Paid locally. Tour ends at 18:00 hrs in Seattle on day 8. |

This trip is designed for those who want to explore the Northwest United States’ natural beauty and discover why visitors are so passionate about this beautiful region. We travel in small, intimate groups (maximum of 13 passengers) and have the benefit of a professionally trained local guide who knows the best places in the national parks and wilderness areas to respectfully observe wildlife, to enjoy fun, adventurous walks and appreciate the flavours of the local culture.
We overnight in comfortable locally owned 3+ star hotels and lodges, eat our meals in locally owned restaurants and utilize established local suppliers for activities en route (kayaking, rafting, etc) that help support local business and keep money in the community. We will also enjoy guided day hikes on the popular and lesser known trails to fully immerse ourselves within the national parks. We have over 35 years of experience operating small-group adventure tours throughout North/Central/South America that foster understanding, appreciation and conservation of the cultures and environments we visit. We are committed to working with our clients and the peoples of our host destinations to ensure direct economic benefits at a community level. Whether we visit Olympic or Mt. Rainier National Park, we aim to operate beyond best practice guidelines and to provide a tour programme that creates a positive impact on the lands that we visit and a lasting impression for those who travel with us. We achieve this by implementing the following methods:

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
