Here in the west of Ireland we have all the ingredients to put together the perfect weekend break. Beautiful scenery: from the wild Atlantic ocean to the stunning rolling hills West Clare is famous for. We have culture and history, with the best traditional music scene in the country, not to mention first class food and hospitality. We have world-class hiking, climbing, golf and surfing at our fingertips and we're adding yoga, relaxation and a bit of truly decadent pampering into the mix. Join us as we visit Lahinch, Doolin, The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. We can't guarantee the weather, but we will guarantee you'll be out in it!

You'll be staying at the renowned Falls Hotel and Spa. The hotel has two restaurants and the well-known Dylan Thomas Bar. Each of the rooms is en-suite and are designed with comfort in mind. All bedrooms include 26 inch LCD Televisions, direct dial telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and extensive room service menu. how this holiday makes a difference
Environment:
The hotel is long established in the community and has long been an important source of employment in the area for many years. In each room they ask that guests consider reusing their towels to cut down on environmental waste. The hotel sits on an enormous acreage of land, which is preserved from the development of the surrounding town and is home to many important bird, animal, plant and tree species. Food for the restaurant is sourced from local farmers and is all traceable. We adopt a strict recycling policy and provide bags when on outdoor ventures to collect rubbish.

As a thank you for coming on our holiday, we will plant a tree in a new forest we've started in Niger, Africa to conquer desertification. Guests will receive a certificate and will have the opportunity to learn more about the project and to monitor their tree, which will be named after them. As of September 2008, we off-set the carbon emissions for return flights within Europe, and off-set the emissions for the outward flight of any Europe to Asia flights if the guest offset the return journey. Guests will also receive a certificate for this.

Community:
Your stay in Ireland will generate a lot of local business. We have teamed up with lots of local businesses from surf schools, climbing schools, hiking guides, biking guides, local minibus and taxi services for transfers, local restaurants and the hotel is family owned by local people.

We are involved in a few local charities including the St.Vincent De Paul, a localized branch of the charity, which uses donations to bring money where it is needed to in the community and also a nursing home where we offer Golden Yoga to the elderly on a voluntary basis. We encourage all our guests to consider travelling here by public transport and offer extensive detail on how this is possible.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
