Western Australia has 12,500 km of white beaches, has the only biodiversity hotspot in the southwest, and boasts the sunniest city in all of Australia - Perth as well as Broome, filled with history and art. The area of Western Australia is 2.5 million square kilometres; therefore it takes a very long time to get around. Getting there
The two big international airports are Broome and Perth. Both of which have fights coming in and out almost daily.
Flight durations to Perth:London: 17hours
Frankfurt: 15 hours
Dubai and South Africa: 10 hours
Hong Kong: 7 hours
Singapore and Kuala Lumpur: 5 hours
Broome is 1½ hours east by air from the Northwest capital Darwin.
Getting around
Coach and rail services: buying a travel pass enables you flexibility to explore the state within conditions. These passes are based on the distance travelled over a certain period of between 1 and 3 months. Another option is to use the 'hop-on hop-off' services that are provided by the major coach and rail services.
Flying: The easiest way to get around is to fly. Some flight operators fly at a low altitude in order to allow passengers to experience views from above.
Driving: By hiring a car you are able to see the sights of your own interest and take your time exploring the up and down the Western Territory. There is also the option of hiring a car and going around in an expert led convoy tour of the Western state.
Weather
The weather in the North and South vary greatly, with the North experience long days of sunshine, in what is known as the dry season or the winter from the months of April to September. Temperatures range from 24 degrees Celsius at night to 34 during the day at this period. Whereas the wet season (summer), from October to March, temperatures are likely to reach up to mid to high 30's and be very humid. At this time the North can experience beautiful, electrifying storms which are a sight not to be missed and also tropical rainstorms.
The weather in the South in the summer time will reach a high of around 32 degrees Celsius and in winter be about 14.
