We strive for a paper free office system. 90% of our office work is now paper free. As we depend on mountain water we are very conscious of our water usage & management. We recognise the limitations of fresh water supplies and have signs in every room encouraging responsible water usage. Our electricity is generated on site, we use low energy lighting, times pathway lights etc and timer switches where possible. We have low energy lighting in all our rooms and ancillary areas and encourage minimal power usage in all our rooms.
We aim to employ locally when possible. Our aim is to have a family type organisation. 70% of our staff are from rural farming villages. They were trained in hospitality by us and are encouraged to develop new skills when here. Only 2% of our staff are foreign. The remainder of our staff are Karien refugees from Thai Burma border areas who have been granted Thai citizenship.
We offer work experience programs to under privileged teenagers from rural villages. Helping them to interact with foreigners, to become part of a working team, to respect themselves and others. This program is on its 6th year, and often these kids will return after they have finished their studies and some remain working with us to this day.
We are contributors to our local Buddhist Temple, our local school and support our island Animal Rescue Center. We also have a keen eye for disadvantaged animals and will, where possible rescue and relocate them. We have had 4 Gibbons stay here after rescue before being taken to a rehabilitation center.
Currently we separate all waste, sending recyclables out to the appropriate centers. Our Kitchen waste is transported to local farms for compost and animal feed. While it’s not practical to grow our own produce due to location. We aim to use as much organic products as possible. This is in keeping with the fact that we are vegetarian and a detox center. We are always aiming to use the best and healthiest products available. We are currently working with similar centers on the islands with view to exploring a bigger organic supply concept – perhaps with us operating an organic farm on the main land, educating our farming staff and helping to change local practices.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
