Visiting the lodge is a direct contribution to preserve 10,000 hectares of pristine coastal rainforest from the pressures of gold mining, wood and palm companies. The lodge and the surrounding forest is directly owned and managed by the community whose members even work as cookers, maids, guides and boat drivers, having this way the opportunity to have an income directly from the tourist activity and to improve their professional skill in tourism.
Our visitors have the opportunity to be in direct daily touch with the life of the community, so simple and at the same time so ancestral and deep in values and attitude towards life, nature and personal relationships. Staying at the lodge is not like going back in the past but a way to realize that in the very present a different way of life and a different relation with nature is possible. The visitors even feel more confident that a personal contribution to preserve nature is possible and can directly realize which is the meaning of responsible tourism efforts, while appreciating this wonderful piece of nature.
Staying at the lodge is not only a matter of lodging in a special place, is something more, is living a human experience. The lodge was built with local material and respecting the indigenous architecture. The food and cuisine are local, comprising the fish from the river.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
