We are united in our commitment to:- water conservation; energy conservation; minimising waste; maximising re-cyclability; giving unwavering support for Environmental Projects within the Community; and to not only beautify not only our immediate surroundings, but to reach out further into the Community, by way of such schemes as "Adopt A Beach".
As part of our commitment to The Adopt-a-Beach project we clean the whole stretch of beach of our adopted beach daily and have planted over 100 Casuarina and Coconut trees and placed 8 benches on the beach. The protection of our Turtle nesting areas are a priority and we work in close liaison with Bellairs' Institute to achieve this goal. Tree planting in the community is an activity afforded to staff and guests alike and makes for an enjoyable and worthwhile day out for everyone concerned. Two years ago the decision was taken to employ someone on a full-time basis solely designated to environmentally related matters - our Environmental Manager.
Programmes include; reducing excess packaging at all times; composting our own kitchen and yard waste; fitting shower heads and taps with flow restrictive devices; eliminating the use of chemical or pesticides in our gardens and herb garden; and energy saving through low wattage lighting.
