We hire local people from our village at the hotel and contribute to our local village with help in bringing fresh water supply and building materials for the newly built school. We are very pro active in beach cleaning and keeping the surrounding area as clean as possible working with the villagers and using the hotel truck.
Each year our beach is a host for turtles that lay eggs on a beach and we mark the nests and protect them until the eggs hatch and stop locals eating the turtles on the beach.
We don't cut down any trees in the resort and have a great replanting program and have kept the hotel small so not to spoil the environment like some large hotels where profit remains king. We have started an active clean up program with our local village, where we employ locals to bag up plastic and litter and our truck takes the waste to an official goverment dump every two weeks because the island has a waste problem
We use a well for all hotel water that is slightly salty and customers are asked to change towels and sheets only when needed. We are helping the local community with the goods we buy from them and we try and source most things on the island.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
