Environment

Our promise is to continue to sustain our environment. We leave our woodland to the birds and animals that live in it. There are Buzzards soaring overhead, Swallows nesting in the barn, Badgers and Deer in the woods, with greenery all around. The area is rich in diversity and it is important that we continue to protect it and enjoy it sustabinably. We recycle where possible and provide only eco-friendly or locally sourced produce to our guests in Woodsman's Loft. Our toiletries are Beekind, from Gilchrist and Soames, our breakfast packs come from our chickens or the local shops at South Warnborough and Newlyns Farm Shop. When we no longer have a use for something it goes on Freecycle for others to find a use for it. We recommend places to go that are local and accessible to our guests. We leave a comprehensive list of things to do locally, and where to eat out and go to locally so that you have a good head start in knowing the local area like we do!

Community

We support our local businesses, you can just wander along to The Golden Pot, or walk to Alton Golf Course, pop to the shop at South Warnborough Village Shop, visit Jane Austen's House, Gilbert White's House, the Pottery at Selbourne, shop local and eat local, there's no need to go far. Visit Newlyns Farm shop, enjoy the wonderful scenery around us or buy from our local smallholder or at the Farmer's Market in Alton or Winchester. There is so much to do within a 5 mile radius that you don't have to travel far, and we are happy for you to arrive by train with your bike, and can collect you from the train station if it helps. We leave a comprehensive list of things to do locally, and where to eat out and go to locally so that you have a good head start in knowing the local area like we do!

Landscape

Enjoy the amazing area we have around here. We provide you with OS maps and walks in the local area. There are brilliant cycle rides and a trip to Gilbert White's House in Selborne cannot help to amaze you and educate you all at once! This is the second highest point in Hampshire and the views are amazing to all directions. A wonderful reason to take a walk, or along the Roman road to Pickaxe Lane. We leave a comprehensive list of things to do locally, and where to eat out and go to locally so that you have a good head start in knowing the local area like we do. We can provide bicycle storage for you if you wish to bring your bike with you, and are happy to help show you around the area, and provide information when you need it.
