How this holiday makes a difference

We are an award winning socially responsible business: we source our power renewably, minimise and recycle all our wastes, shop in our local High Street, are members of the Phone Co-op, and bank with ethical financial institutions.

Most of our cleaning materials and many of the finishes in the house are eco-friendly. We are also mindful of respecting and enhancing the wildlife habitat in our gardens and orchard. Our butterfly population is testimony to this!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Well, apart from the journey itself: the get together with Michou, our host....

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Just sit back and enjoy... it's so peaceful, you won't believe it until you've been there....

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I do: we had lots of local products for instance as food items for breakfast (local juice, honey, etc.)....

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The fact that the house was just like home from home with a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Michou kindly provides a fantastic tranquil setting, both in the house & garden where I was just able to be totally calm & at peace with the world.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Chill & enjoy!!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes I do as I left my car parked up for my stay so the environment certainly benefited! The cottage is so close to the town, the Chalice Well & the Tor, I simply walked everywhere. Local people were extremely friendly & chatty so I enjoyed spending both time & money sampling the delights Glastonbury has to offer.

4. Any other comments?

Michou, Gaston (Michou's wonderful dog) & the cottage offer a very special ladies retreat. I felt instantly at home the minute I arrived & hope to return for another break in the future.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Most memorable part of the weekend was sitting alone up at the top of the beautiful garden at the house - it was on a very steep hill.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Tips: avoid the High Street in Glastonbury if possible - there's nothing much there except shops selling new age tourist tat. However, some of them advertise events that may be interesting.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I could not possibly say. It probably benefited the people who ran the B&B, but we weren't there terribly long. We did eat in a restaurant owned by local people so that would have benefited them. Don't think we had much impact on the environment - our rubbish was recycled where possible or composted.

4. Any other comments?

I'd give it ***. Nothing to do with the place - I'm sure if we'd been there longer and explored more it would have been even better.
