How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
We use energy efficient lightbulbs throughout the resorts and turn off lights and turn appliances off standby when not in use. We also you have locks on rooms that turn off appliances when guests go out. We collect rain water for use in the garden, and have one water butt and a reservoir. We have showers and half flush toilets.
We use eco cleaning products throughout, and eco washing up liquid in our restaurants and bars. We use eco balls or an eco washing powder for laundry.
We use herbal pesticide and fertilizers for cultivating our gardens. We also compost organic and garden waste, including all leaves and branches. In regard to conservation of the local area, we support local conservation projects with the Local Municipality when they have such projects. through providing labour and donations to the projects. Our office is paper free and we use all recycled stationary.
Community
We have joined a community activities programme with Rawai Municipality and community support activities and sports providing regular donations. We have become involved in local community programs and issues by donating the scholarship for National Children's Day at Wat Sawang Arrom School every year. We also donate to The People with Disabilities Association of Phuket,Thailand. We donate money to support the association each year.
We encourage guests to use local transport and to explore the local cultural sights of Phuket, as well as using local businesses in the town and the hotel surrounds. Our resort also purchases local produce for use in the resort, from Rawai and Thai Mai Village.
We employ around 30 local staff directly, from Phuket town and the Rawai area. We also train all our local staff to provide them with the best employment opportunities. The resort uses locals for all maintenance and repair work, using local Builders/Electrician and Plumbers. We always use the same people for these services when possible.
