Self guided walking in Austria

How this holiday makes a difference

Together with our local guides we emphasize on the bounty provided by nature and how to preserve the environment whilst enjoying the numerous activities the mountains and lakes have to offer.

Our guides are chosen for their enthusiasm for the local environment and for wanting to share their knowledge of the geological beginnings and history of the area. Stressing the importance of being environmentally friendly and educate and encourage our guests to be aware of the dangers and consequences of their actions by discarding their litter and taking nature for granted.

With the proximity of the Dachstein Glacier guests can see at first hand the effects of Global warming on this fragile environment and understand the impact they can have.

The B&B is set at the heart of the village and is managed by a lady who was born in the village and has lived there most of her life.

It is also the home of a cafe, a business run by a resident of Obertraun providing a year round, popular social venue for the villagers & guests alike.

By providing B&B board we encourage our guests to eat out at local restaurants and spend money in local shops.

We also source all of our produce from local suppliers which is helping to support the local economy and employment.
