Sensitivity to the delicate ecological balance seen all around is our motto. In fact, the rich vegetation seen in abundance around the house is maintained in the best possible manner by the retired professor and his once zoology professor. We do not use of any kind of pesticide that kills both plants and animals around the premises but use more natural means of eradication like smoking and usage of medicinal herbs etc. Cutting down of age old trees is a big no as it disturbs the habitat of numerous migrating and domestic birds.
The cottages that are built in the property are 200 year old wooden structures that were being demolished by families that could not maintain such old houses. These have been bought from them and reset in its original setting thereby we have avoided concrete structures and other modern building materials in the property.
Even the roofing is done with a natural plant fibre which is hand woven, locally called “paya” thereby reducing the wood usage which in turn would have contributed to the increase in deforestation.
The water table in the soil is maintained by rained water conservation in the form of an aquatic pond. Moreover, one of the wooden cottages is constructed on stilts amidst water channels which is a natural habitat to a large number of fishes and micro organisms.
Special care is taken to see that no kind of waste disposal is done into the backwaters and the usage of plastic is reduced to a minimum. There is a waste recycling compost in the area where all biodegradable waste is put in to be converted into manure. Vegetables are bought from organic farms and some of it are grown in our own backyard, thereby guarantying our food to be fresh. Latest low flush toilets are bought for minimum water consumption.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
