Our Cork self catering accommodation is a certified organic farm. We have a tree planting project where 4,000 hardwood trees planted so far. We manage coppicing each year and harvest wood to supply the woodburning stoves on the property. Stonewalls and hedges are being established, ponds built and organic vegetables grown on the farm and we have noticed an increase in wildlife and species types.
The new house is run on solar heating and hot water and we have our own private well for water. We have K double glazing throughout and are fully insulated. Guests are encouraged to recycle. All cleaning products are animal friendly and biodegradable. We do not produce brochures as information is on the website as we have a paper free policy.
Guests are encouraged to support our local businesses including pubs and restaurants, the local farmers market etc. We employ locally for garden maintenance, cleaning, and tree work. Whalewatching and sea kayaking are local businesses.
Our meat and vegetables are sold locally and are available to guests. We provide employment to local people, supply the farmers market with local produce, buy locally produced good and give other local companies business through the tourists we attract.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
