We have farmed organically since 2001. We are part of the countryside stewardship scheme and have instigated a large environmental programme over the last 4 years including the planting of hundreds of metres of indigenous hedging, new broadleaved woodland trees, the digging out & restoration of natural spring fed lakes & ponds re-discovered from old maps, planting 6m field margin buffer zones & over wintering stubble fields to increase the bio-diversity which has led to huge increases in the local population of insects, birds and small mammals. This year we have had the first hares back for nearly 40 years!
Our B&B, self catering & camping field all offer recycling facilities and we will re-use everything given the opportunity, including waste water from showers & washing facilities.
Our plan involves reparation work with the local Youth Offending Team and ‘on the job’ training skills given to adults with severe learning difficulties from the Huntspill Project, with a view to them attaining employment within the agricultural or horticultural industry. This is a non-profit making enterprise and therefore will be fairly price locally produced food for local people.
Our project at Bridgwater is producing Local Food for Local People, minimising food miles and using organic practices. We are also opening up the fields and farmland for walkers and visitors to visit and explore. The increase in bio-diversity alone is well worth seeing!
We are patrons of Open Hands India. Although it is not a local charity it was started by our next door neighbour! We hold several fund raising events each year to raise money for her village projects.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
