This is a family home open to people who want to share the space and time with environmental enthusiasts (not experts) where you can learn a countryside skill or woodland craft. The activity is a medium through which you will relax and be at one with the environment.
Energy efficient light bulbs are fitted throughout the house. All biodegradable material is composted, from both the house and garden. Any by-products of hedge laying operations is chipped to make garden mulch. Rainwater is collected for plant watering. Metal, glass and papers are sorted and recycled and plastic is recycled by the local authority. The 12 acres of land is managed in a sustainable way with great emphasis in habitat creation and diversity. Areas of the land including parts of the garden are allowed to remain undisturbed to promote natural habitats. Wight Wildlife and The footprint Trust are regular visitors and monitor ongoing projects.
All food for our breakfasts are sourced locally. The eggs, bacon, bread, butter, tomatoes, jam, marmalade, honey, milk and fruit juice are all made on the Isle of Wight. Local builders, carpenter, electrician and village garage are used for their services. The local post office has recently opened a visiting post office in the bell tower of the local church. We use that service and the local producers who use the opening times to sell their wares.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
