We are committed to providing a good quality service whilst minimising the environmental impact of our activities. Some of the main steps we have taken to reduce our impact are composting garden waste and recycling glass, cans and paper. We use environmentally friendly washing powder/conditioner, cleaning products, liquid soap and washing up liquid. We use recycled paper products and energy saving light bulbs.
We support the local community through supporting the local Church and playing an active part in Wolsingham village life. We are committee members of the Weardale Visitor Network. We support The Durham Wildlife Trust by membership and by telling our guests about them. Also, help organise The Durham Shopping Extravaganza held every year in October for local charities. We employ all local staff. We buy local produce from the nearby village shops for the guests and our meals. We use local services for the maintenance of the cottage.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
