Our 2011 Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold award is testament to our commitment to minimise the negative impact of our business on the environment, both locally and more widely. Since 2005 we have established extensive wildlife habitats at Heddle and have planted 3000 trees and shrubs across our 10 acres of land; we plant more than two to three hundred trees a year to extend this habitat.
We have created a significant set of different natural gardens with the main emphasis on promoting native and often genetically localised plant material. We have built an extensive vegetable garden to supply our guests with our own seasonal produce grown here for the 2012 season.
We advise guests on local restaurants and shops and provide a wealth of additional local information. We promote local guides and tours to our clients and guarantee all produce supplied is either environmentally approved and/or wholly local in origination. We use Ecover household products or equivalent exclusively and low energy light bulbs are used throughout the property.
We compost all food and garden waste, cardboard and all organic matter. We provide facilities for our guests to recycle glass and paper and encourage them to do so. We have a used battery collection point. All suppliers are local tradespeople and part time staff local to the village.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
