We minimise energy use by using energy efficient light bulbs and appliances and turning off lights and appliances when not in use. We have showers and a waterless toilet system to greatly reduce water use. We have a laundry scheme where we only change towels after 2 days or when guests request them. We use green/biodegradable cleaning products in the property. We encourage wildlife in our property by putting up bird boxes and leaving an area of the garden uncut to encourage wild flowers. We compost all garden waste and leaves. We recycle glass, plastic and paper. We support local conservation projects such as Woodland trust and Scotland’s National Heritage.
We employ mainly local staff. We buy produce from the local area for the guests and our meals. We use local services such as builders, electricians and plumbers for the maintenance of the property. We support the local community by giving concessions to the local croquet and curling clubs.
We support local charities by donating money every year and by telling our guests about them. We encourage our guests to visit local attractions, eat in local restaurants and buy local produce. We also encourage our guests to use public transport or local services.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
