The park is recognised for this fact in being awarded Gold status in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards. We are also participating in the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The farm is also aiming to protect the environment in the way it is managed. We have a glass recycling bank on the camp site to recycle guest’s glass waste.
We use low-energy light bulbs in the house and on the park. We use outside movement sensors and time clocks amongst other energy-saving devices. As far as possible, fallen timber is used in the house, or left so that wildlife can flourish. We monitor our water usage very closely.
We prefer showers which use less water. We use non-concusive taps in the shower blocks. We use re-cycled or environmentally friendly products where possible. This includes the waste bin liners in the house. There is a grass composter at the rear of the Park.
We encourage customers to use all local shops, pubs and restaurants as well as local attractions. In recent interviews for the village Community Plan we estimated that our customers inject over £500K into the village economy. The farm is registered under the ELS scheme. The scheme aims to encourage a large number of farmers across a wide area of farmland to deliver simple yet effective environmental management.
