Environment

Our inspiration has come from the owner’s lifelong dream and commitment to protecting nature and the environment. Our philosophy is centered around our idea of creating a relaxing place to stay that as well gives back to nature and the environment. We believe in the sense of place and the culture and products that represent it.

One of the reasons why people travel is that they wish to experience something different and inspiring; at Cefalicchio we offer just that, a unique and natural experience.

Cefalicchio is surrounded by 90 hectares of biodynamic and organically cultivated vineyards, orchard and olive groves. The energy used is produced from our 2 hectare field of solar panels, and we avoid the use of products that are harmful to the environment but use only natural cleaning products (Ecolab and Ecomac). We are a member of EcoWorldHotel, the first group of environmentally-friendly hotels and bed and breakfasts in Italy.

The villa has been restored with great care to maintain the original structure and is furnished with a tasteful mixture of original and contemporary furniture. It has both the rustic charm of a country house and all of the modern fixtures that you can find in our spa. We have utilized local materials to renovate the building as "cotto" and local stones for the pavements you find around the grounds.

There is a charm here that is both old and new, and yet so completely unique that it may only be found here, at Cefalicchio.

Community

We use a mixture of local suppliers in our restaurant because we believe that a shorter food chain can guarantee a better quality and healthier product. We believe in the culture of a place in all aspects and think about the social, nutritional, and environmental effect that the things we eat have.

Cefalicchio is a haven for food, wine, and culture in every sense of the word and we mean to continue to protect them in any possible way. All the harvesting, from Nero di Troia grape to Coratina olive, is made with extreme care and manually, following the old typical ways of harvesting.

We are willing to protect food biodiversity and traditions so we work in alliance with the international organization Slow Food. We believe in the pleasure and cultural value of what we eat.
