The villa of Cefalicchio was originally erected in 1700 as a farm, or a “masseria”. The rural buildings which now surround the main house, were built in 1904 by the Rossi brothers Nicola, Michele, Giambattista, and Sabino for their mother Antonietta Massari. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Rossi brothers have been growing and producing grapes and making wines. Only ten years ago the brothers opened a small and elegant restaurant, which was once an old storage structure. Situated in a typical Mediterranean hillside and delightful in all seasons, Cefalicchio is surrounded by 90 hectares of biodynamic and organically cultivated vineyards and olive groves. The villa has been restored with great care to maintain the original structure and is furnished with a tasteful mixture of original and contemporary furniture. The atmosphere of a private residence makes it an exclusive haven of peace and tranquillity where guests are encouraged to make an independent and personal use of all living areas.
