Juliet and Martin's commitment to sustainable tourism in the Peak District National Park focuses on the restoration, conservation and protection of Elton Old Hall c1668 - grade II Georgian Derbyshire Hall - and the surrounding area of natural beauty. With the help of the Peak District National Park Authority and under the guidance of Derbyshire conservation officers, village craftsmen have helped them lovingly restore Elton Old Hall including locally made contemporary comforts.
You will discover a rich abundance of rare plant and wildlife, Peak District scenery, ancient monuments, natural and cultural heritage on Peak District walks from the doorstep of Elton Old Hall. Use the local guide books and children’s “Look and Find” sheet to identify Derbyshire wildlife.
To ensure it remains a unique place to visit, Juliet and Martin have been awarded the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark for fully demonstrating their commitment to:
1 - Conserving the special and characteristic features of the Peak District National Park

By encouraging the use of local suppliers, food, crafts and the sharing of local traditions Juliet and Martin also promote the culture of the Peak District.
Juliet also provides a complimentary guide to experienced caterers (local food), activity providers (cycling, walking, canoeing, cimbing, sailing, horse riding, golfing), local experiences (chocolate making, guided walking. pottery), child friendly (Farmyard Adventures) or grown-up (Go Ape, murder mystery) – for all budgets recommended by recent guests.
You may be encouraged to join in various Elton village festivals such as the annual Local Beer Festival, 1940s weekend and numerous WI yummy cake and plant sales.
