Community
At the moment the hotel is in the evaluation process on an application for a blue flag beach.
We should receive a Beach of Quality certified beach for season 2012 and Blue Flag status for 2013. Various activities have been held to qualify for such a status, including beach clean up, talks to guests and staff. We also offered our support to a local scout group were a presentation and partical session was made in relation to marine preservation in our area.
The hotel has organized activities to clean the seabed in conjunction with our diving school.
Hotel offers complimentary lunches to local charity foundations and offers vouchers for fund raising.
Where at all possible we try to purchase local produced and offer theme nights related to the Maltese cuisine and culture. A Maltese floklore night is offered once a week.
Support is given to the local Dog sanctuary were funds are collected in the hotel, discounts and free nights are given to helpers coming from abroad to help run the sanctuary. Old blankets and carpets are given to the sanctuary.
Guests are encouraged to visit local artisans centers and Heritage. Buy local produced items. Visits are also organized to local wine manufacturing companies, Honey producing farm and cultural walking visit to heritage trials.
Blood donations are organized by the staff.
