How this holiday makes a difference

Environment

Our proposal for the environment is recycling all paper, cans, oils and all kinds of debris that may cause pollution. Just as the use of light bulbs and the responsible use of electricity. We use sensorial lamps in the interior corridors so they start lighting only when clients are passing trough. So we can get our proposal to save and not to waste electricity.

In addition, we control the garden irrigation and we are careful, not to waste a lot of water, which we consider a precious commodity of our community. The hotel has on its disposal a modern system to irrigate the plants which halps us to save water.

In our offece we try not to print su much paper, we use the e-mails instead of printed files, we recicle the paper for internal proposals, we use the envelpments 2 o 3 times for our administration etc.

We also try to raise our costumers awareness of recicling plastic, paper, batteries etc. There are notes in the rooms which invite the clients to deliver us all waste products and we deposite them in the correct container. Our costumers should be aware of spending their holidays in a hotel which cares about preserving the enviroment and avoiding the global pollution.

Community

The commitment to our community, as many other Paradores, has been and will be creating jobs, generating wealth in the area, often for long periods of time. In addition, we support other local businesses such as rent a cars, restaurants and local shops that makes our hotel a locally esteemed business centre.

We buy local products such as vegetables, fruits, fish ... etc. for use in our kitchen and every time you need to use some external service is attempted, under all the media, be done by local businesses and families. We do all in our power to promote local trade and natural.

We sell in our little shop local gastronomic products which also helps to local businessmen to increase their profit, such as typical canary suaces as green coriander and red paprika mojo, papaya, mango, date, fig and tomato jam, jars of almogrote -typical spicy paprica and cheese paste etc.

We offer always in our restaurant dishes of the regional cousine such as watercress soup, rabbit lion, goat meat, various types of local fish, typical cheese of the island, gofio - roasted corn flour, and we also prepare delicious desserts with palm honey - all these are gomerian products which we buy from native people and so we help for the development of the island agriculture and business.

Story of the accommodation provider

We belong to the prestigious PARADORES DE ESPAΡA with many years of history. Our hotels are located in unique locations, such as monasteries, castles or simply recreate the typical architecture of the place, as in our case. The Parador of La Gomera was built in 1972. It was not a historic building but it preserves from outside the features of a typical castilian house with elements of the canary architecture. Its beautiful subtropical garden and magnificent view to the Atlantic Ocean and The Teide mountain make it an unique place to relax and to enjoy any holiday.
