La Palma hotel in the Canaries, Spain
How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
There is an energy savings plan based on the reduction of energy. We use energy saving light bulbs, ignition time clocks to ensure that we minise energy consumption and minimise our environmental impact.
The Parador has a wastewater treatment plant to save water and ensure that the hotel does not polute any of the surrounding area.
We recycle all paper, glass, plastic and organic materials and are committed to reducing our consumtion of packaging materials.
We also have a garden where we produce the vegetables, fruits and herbs that are used for the restaurant without fertilizers. Our Garden plants are all native from the region and we don't use any pesticides or fertilisers. We also have a Botanical Guide, free for the hotel guest and the nomenclature of the plants at the garden.
As a result of in La Palma is the GRANTECAN "Gran Telescopio Canarias" (Large telescope of Canaries, one of the largest in the world) all exterior lights at the Parador are special to not contaminate the atmosphere of heaven as it is.
