We created this project to prove that ecological lifestyles are synonymous with comfort, fulfillment and intelligent living.
This accommodation is a more permanent version of the Village of Hope, a catalyst for The Web of Hope movement and the inspiration of one of the founders, the late Dr Colin Hudson. By demonstrating working examples of role models abstracted from our database, we will provide living proof of sustainable lifestyle solutions, inspired by the natural ‘intelligence’ of biological systems.
Modern permaculture concepts have been combined with traditional farming methods, like the inter-cropping and diversity seen in tropical forest gardens. Appropriate building technologies, like rammed earth and traditional thatch, incorporate solar technology and systems for harvesting rainwater.
‘Localisation’ mechanisms are improving livelihoods for local villagers employed on the project. The staff are all from the community, were previously unemployed and have been socially and economically uplifted by the project. As the project expands, so will the benefits to the local community, through such initiatives as our carbon mitigation policy, providing them with renewable energy technologies as off-sets from overseas visitors and the associated travel.
The Bio-versity programme seeks to integrate traditional ecological practices with modern eco-technologies, thereby giving both visitors and the local community a new vision about living sustainably.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
