How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
We΄re very close to the river so my promise to sustain my environment.
We work together with the guides of the Natural Park of Ason Collados in raising awareness of the neighbors with the environment especially in the risk of brush fires burning, so as to avoid polluting discharges manure into the river. We are in the hunting area, wild boar and deer, and fishing, trout, so our contact with hunters and fishermen is ongoing in relation to that conducted in a manner that is sustainable. We send our guests to the center of the salmon breeding fishing grounds where they receive awareness of the need to keep the river healthy.
Our policy is to use the garbage bins available as glass, paper, packaging and organic waste. The glass and container were requested by us and we could get the council to put them. Also we work with a company to collect cooking oil and have recommended it to other houses in the valley. Our policy is to recommend to the guests that the temperature in the rooms should not exceed 20 degrees. Also be aware indication that the change of towels to reduce the number of washes. To reduce the consumption of detergents we use the magic ball that washes without detergent.
Community
Although we come from outside this region, we have integrated with Valley residents have a continuing relationship with them. We help to rebuild the cementery (it was buitl by the first owner of our house) and the chirch of the village. The floor repair is being done among all neighbors. We removed the table floor covered the oldest stone due to its poor condition. We have yet to finish the improvement of the stone floor before the end of the year so that the church can be reopened again.
We currently work with other neighbors in the recovery of the first village water supply ( has been plugged and stopped working).
Our recommendations are always based on an ethnographic museum to visit personally leading an elderly couple in a nearby town, Santallana, who have collected thousands of ancient artifacts in the Valley. We also have brochures Collados Natural Park of Ason and nearby caves, one cave painting, and our guests we offer caving trips in the sourround.
We also recommend our guests to purchase natural products from villagers such as vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, etc) as well as poultry chicken eggs and milk Valley farmers themselves. We also have sales wing biscuits and jams made in a nearby town.Milk and cheese and vegetables we eat in our house is from the States of Ason Valley, cooperative formed by the farmers of this valley and other neighbors.
