How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
Our rural house tries to preserve the environment and for that reason we invite all our guest to reuse and recycle the rubbish. For that we have special containers to separate plastics, papers, glasses and organic rubbish.
Moreover we comunicate all our guest that water is too precious to waste it, so we tell them " Please, be concious and try to use only the amount you need".
We try to reuse the water to water plants.
In addition., and in order to reduce the consume of energy, our rural house has been built, restored and equiped using carefully sourced local materials and in a style that tells to the foreing people the cultural and geological story of the landscape.
So during the winter, and because of the good orientation of the house, it remains warm using only a radiator; and during the summer it remains fresh because of the stone walls.
What is more, we have installed ; to wash the towels and the blankets for the clientslow consume lights inside the house to save electricity
We have also tried to use the least amount of plastic elements as it is a non-degradable material.
Apart from that, we try to conserve natural species that live only in the Canary Islands. Most of them you will find in our patio/terrace or garden.
We choose suppliers that match our environmental values: we always try to use environmentaly friendly products (for exmple to clean the house or for the plants; to wash the towels and the blankets for the clients).
Most of the owners of the rural houses in el Hierro are trying to introduce renewable energy sources (for example solar panels), so it can be used at least in sunny days to warm the water or to produce electricity for the light.
Community
The owner of the rural house works hardly to create good relationships between tourists and the local community, for this reason we always recommend our clients local restaurants and stores, activities companies, etc.
We sustain jobs and cultural diversity by supporting local craft makers and artisans, and promoting cultural attractions.

Moreover, we will provide you with puntual information and details about opening times, local transports, medical dentres, farmacies, and all kind of information you could need during your holidays.
Apart form that, we welcome all our visitors to our rural house with some local products, so they can taste for example how sweet are our jam or our tipical dessert "las Quesadillas"; how soft is our smoked cheese or our wines, how special taste our fish accompained with our "papas con mojo" (boiled potatoes with and spicy canarian red or green sauce).
