KwaZulu Natal bed and breakfast
How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
T & T BED AND BREAKFAST, its owners, management and employees hereby strive to implement and educate our guests on environmental issues by :
1. Raising environmental awareness such a water and electricity consumption. This is done by means of a "Visitors Charter" which our guests are asked to sign on check in to our establisment.
2. We are in the process of converting all our light fittings to energy saving units. We have a section of the premises currently using a solar geyser and the rest of the premises will be converted to a heat pump supply.
3. Our long term goal is to install a rain water harvesting and grey water system. The rain water will be used within our B & B for showering, laundry and filling the swimming pool (when requried). Grey water will be used for watering our vegetable garden and grass (if required).
4. Our gardens are landscaped with indegious vegetation which does not require excess maintainance or watering. Our garden survives mainly on the environmental conditions.
5. A full recycling program has been implemented with fruit and vegatable matter sustaining our worm farm, other biodegradable matter being disposed of in the compost heap. We have separate bins for paper / plastic, glass, tins and other waste which is feed directly from our kitchen into bins via a shute.
Our aim at T & T Bed and Breakfast is to become as self sufficient as possible and rely on the environment for sustainability and in return, maintain the environment by continuing with our recycling ventures.
