Fiji homestay
How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
Waste We free the land, sea and waterways from rubbish and pollution.
River water was the only source of water in the village during my growing up in the village, we use it for - washing, drinking, cleaning stuff, bathing to name a few. But now we have tap water going in the village but villagers still utilising this river water for the majority use, therefore would recommend the guests to tthe homestay to appreciate and respect it by not litterring the rivers and the creaks. With this project as well I hope to educate my fellow community the importance of mother nature and how to take good care of it. I believe if the community are taught then they can see how importance the mother nature is to us.
One of my aim in this Valley Homestay Project to my Village is to educate them how to live and respect the mother nature so our future generation can have a better living condition.
Suppliers
We choose suppliers that match our environmental values. As for the suppliers - we utilise what is around us and use it due to the fact that what is around us is use to the condition of enviroment it is in.Our homes evernthough many modern things are coming up - we still have thatched and also some of the materials use are just what is around our surrounding.
Community
Friends & neighbours We know where to find all things local and we support/ recommend our neighbours, spreading tourism income to those most in need
We reccomend alot of local owned restaurant, local tour operators and echo friendly companies.
Being the tourism Industry in Fiji, has taught me alot of those coming over from other countries to run business in Fiji, as I was working for the tourism industry, I thought this was good for the economy but later learn when I did a course with Australian Pacific Technical College, that this didnt really help much with the economy in Fiji since the money are flowing out of the country therefore it enables me to see that we need to support our local fellow businesses,so we recommend local restaurants, tour operator, tour guides to our guests
