Environment
We are a partner company Garajonay National Park, have signed the EUROPEAN CHARTER FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM, reflecting our commitment to the environment and sustainability.
Our activities include the provision of renewable energy such as solar, we have implemented the proper treatment of waste and litter, for which we ask our guests collaboration, we use cleaning products that have no impact on the environment, proper heating and conservation of it inside our accommodations.
In our office we try not to print unless strictly necessary, we have in our outdoors solar powered lights fully independent programmable switches to turn off outside lights, we have drip irrigation and it is scheduled according to the season of the year.
We have also implemented the responsible use of water in all our properties, giving them the necessary resources such as half a tank drain. Also we explain to the guests about the flora and fauna that could be found in our environment, as well as the peculiarities of each season, we talk and report writing and audiovisual material, also send tourists to points of information in case guests that require more detailed information. About noise pollution, we ask our guests to respect the rest times of both the other guests as the residents. In our apartments have air conditioning in all we've programmed the temperature for the minimum possible.
Community
As far as possible we try to use local products and services, we invite our guests to know the local customs and crafts. Also we inform our guests of our commitment to sustainability and environment. With regard to the information that tourists ask us, our commitment is to inform them about the Garajonay National Park, the island's history and customs. Regarding the "silbo gomero" we invite our guests to know and explain how this amazing national language is. In our restaurant serves vegetarian food with local ingredients or owned in most cases. We constantly inform tourists about the best hiking trails, especially the circulars, they do not need the car to doi it, we provide food for walkers in our restaurant facts that are not packaged in plastic. In our gardens do not use plants that are not native and which are invasive.
Our staff is constantly conducting training in environmental matters, as well as customer service, maintenance crew are trained neighbors living nearby. As we are an agricultural and ranching area, we invite our guests to know it and internalize their activities and in some cases to know their crafts and customs. Belonging to a network such as the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, we are constantly sharing experiences on activities and products that we can share with our guests.
