The companies that have joined the Charter of La Gomera(CETS) collaborate actively with Garajonay National Park and are commited with the stimulation of sustainable tourism in the island. We also are members of ASETUR (Spanish Association of Rural Tourism). This institution certified the house and our activity. With regard to the information that tourists ask us, our commitment is to inform them about the tourism resources of La Gomera and the need to preserv them, in special the Garajonay National Park and the "silbo gomero", declared World Heritage by UNESCO. We constantly inform tourists about the best hiking trails, especially the circulars, they do not need the car to do it.
In our gardens we use native plants and biological crops that abonamos with our own compost. Our guest can get the hortalizas from our garden directly. As we are an agricultural and ranching area, we invite our guests to know and internalize their activities and in some cases to know their crafts and customs. Belonging to a network such as the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, we are constantly sharing experiences on activities and products that we can inform our guests.
We are members of the most important island΄s associations involved in rural development (AIDER), environmental protection, and in local culture (Tagaragunche). From the beginning the house was rebuilt by my own family but with the help of local carpenters and other workers. The house cleaning is made by a neighbour lady and local products are used as much as possible and recommended to be bought by the visitors.
