Our resort is located in a National Park and thus we have an acute awareness of our natural surroundings. Our villas have been designed to have minimal impact on the environment with less lighting, heating and cooling required than conventional rooms. Energy efficient light globes are used throughout the resort and all exterior lighting are sensored or on timers. All cleaning products used are environmentally friendly and instead of cars staff use electricity-fuelled golf buggies around the resort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Rainwater and bore water is used and a state of the art Sewerage Treatment Plant is currently in the process of being installed. We have duel flush toilets, water saving shower heads, laundry schemes where linen is changed every 7 days and we educate guests about the conservation of the national park as native wildlife such as kangaroos, possums, water dragons and an array of birdlife can be spotted throughout the Resort. An extensive recycling program has been put into place.
We are a very proud sponsor of the Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF) and Dragons Abreast Australia (DAA), a separate organisation set up to focus on breast cancer awareness. We donate Prize Vouchers to fundraising events and raffles, supporting worthy causes such as cancer research.
The resort is as much about community as it is the environment. As we treasure and blend in with our magnificent natural surrounds, we also admire and respect the wonderful communities which make up the NSW mid-north coast. That is why we are committed to being a part of the local community and supporting it in anyway possible. We employ all local staff, buy local produce and use local services.
We support tourism to the region as a member of Great Lakes Tourism and encourage our guests to partake in activities and use services locally. We support local schools and charities with prize donations for fund-raising events.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
