The ski chalet in Muhlbach is a wooden eco build with masses of insulation. It is built to blend in with the environment and be part of the national park. We do our uttermost best to be environmentally friendly with light bulbs, eco friendly appliances and cleaning products. We ask our guests to be respectful of electric and have a fair use policy where they pay for using too much. Instead of manicuring the garden we have seeded with native wild flowers for butterflies. We have kept the garden at the chalet natural to help encourage wildlife, offering food and homes for birds. We do not use fertilizer on the grass areas but use nettle liquid fertilizer which we produce ourselves.
We reiterate the practices of recycling at the ski chalet, only food waste is collected everything else is recycled and we remind our guests of this. We use eco friendly cleaning products including toilet paper and use refillable hand washes. In the UK we have a plant a tree scheme which we have details of in our guest book. This enables guests to offset there carbon footprint.
Our office is based in the UK where we ensure we print on recycled paper and reuse as much as possible. All laser cartridges are recycled. We use low wattage light bulbs and bio mass heating. All confirmation is set by email and we do not produce brochures or paper literature, all advertising is on the internet.
Our purchasing policy at the Austrian Alps ski chalet is based on suitable purchasing an example of this is refillable hand washes and ensuring our suppliers have green policies. We also purchase everything from local small shops instead of supermarkets and purchase guest gifts of local schnapps and wine from local farms. In Austria we pay our cleaners (housekeeper) over the minimum wage requirements and have a section in our guest book about cultural information ranging from useful local German phrases to local religious information. At the Austrian Alps ski chalet in Muhlbach, we also promote local restaurants and shop which supply and produce locally purchased goods.
We fell in love with Austria in 2004 when we travelled around Europe in a motorhome. We visited several times after this and in 2007 decided to buy a building plot and build a luxury chalet for us and to rent out for only 18 weeks a year. The chalet is amazing and we run it along with our holiday cottages in Devon. We have lots of experience with self catering and the chalet is exceptionally well equipped and home from home.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
