We collaborate with the historical heritage of Menorca and at the same with the current islands needs, by means of contracting local staff, providers and goods. In the restaurant all food are mainly from the island, the vegetables are gathered directly from our own kitchen garden, every morning we go to the market to select the best products for our table, and fish and seafood are bought daily from local fishermen.
We have changed all the traditional lights to low consumption; all the rooms have contactors to reduce the use of air conditioned (distributed saving), the main pumps and machinery for aircon is only running few hours a day and depending on the outdoor temperature (central saving). We have a project to change all the heat production for water and the pool to solar energy and currently we are looking for financial support. We are planning to introduce geothermic technology for generating cold to air con (summer) and the solar energy for obtaining heat (winter).
We collect all the waste water and cleaning it in our own depurator station. Then we use it for watering the gardens. We use recycled products as possible and we have a policy to save paper. We collect the different wastes generated and classify it in several categories: plastics, oils, metals, paper, glass. Then we put what we have classified in specialized municipal containers for making easy the recycling process. As well we compost at home as much we can and the we use in our land and gardens.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
