How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
We show we understand why water is too precious to waste and, when it rains, we savour every drop. We use natural source of water in the pool (sea) and filter it back. We encourage our guests to be conscious with linen, towels. Our in room cosmetics are recyclable. For our guests we tend to kindly remind the importance of saving the energy. We have implemented various measures so as to reduce our impact on the environment such as: not use individually packed items, we recycle and encourage guests to do likewise, use low energy light bulbs where applicable and use sensors to illuminate only when necessary.
We have planted our garden with the most distinguished local fauna and plan to extend it. 3 times per year hotel employees clean the beach. Recycling is very important for us as business community and we encourage our employees to reuse everything that they can. We buy recyclable office paper for administration purposes.
In the near future we plan to provide healthy living workshops to our guests and local community.
Our important goal at the Augusto Villa Boutique Hotel accommodation is to minimise the negative impacts of our business and to improve the property’s environment.
Community
A fair deal. We offer local people good working conditions, a fair wage, and empower them with training opportunities. Differently from other local hotels, we are operating 12 months in order to ensure that our staff are not left unemployed on low season. Moreover, 90% of our employees are local citizens. We regularly provide English lessons and training to our employees free of charge. We also tend to employ university graduates in order to ensure that young, enthusiastic people in the region are able to work at a high class hotel and the lack of experience we compensate by extensively training them.
As a contrast to region's statistics of women employment - our 50 per cent of employees are women.
The hotel's restaurant specializes in traditional mediterranean dishes and healthy meals. Locally grown products are used extensively. We have a choice of meals for vegetarians and are ready to serve vegans on the request. The bar and Spa bar among others serves freshly squeezed juices (including apple, carrot juices) as well as a variety of herbal teas. On the low season we do not offer a la carte menu in order to ensure our guests that we provide the fresh and organic food, which is not being frozen.
