How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
We promote an ecological holiday by offering:
1. Use of ecological products: as part of the house there is a big bio garden where guests can get fruits and vegetables for free. We also sell some regional products as well as bio to our guests.
2. Transport: We promote the use of bicycles or walking routes in order to get to know the area.
3.Heating system: Solar system to heat the water and heaters.
4. Wildlife: As we are located in national park we informed our guests on how to have a good behavior, such as no hunting, no leaving trash outside the house, no lights outside the house on during all night.
5. Waste: we provide different recycling bins and explain where the recycling points in the town are. No waste is thrown on the land, everything is taken to proper containers in the town.
6.Water: we are in an area full of water but not because of that we care less. We use the water from rain to water our plants. we do our best to keep the swimming pool in a good state during all year so that we do not have to fill it with new water every year.
7.Buildings: Our main building was build over 200 years ago. It keeps the original walls of stones typical of the mediterranean style, when is painted, then with land and light colors that fit in the landscape. The road to the house is a sand way, because no paving allowed.
Community
In order to support the community we offer information about activities offered around, such as sports, like horse ridding, cycling, trekking, as well as information of products of the región, bio, handmade or artesanal, where people can go and buy them or where they can get to know an specific artesanal activity. We also give information of species of animals and plants so that guests get a better knowledge of the área. Suggestions for a better keeping of the enviroment and surronding during the stay are important for us..
We provide a map of the town, contact information for tourist point as well as information of festivities and special activities of the season. For example during fall we encourage peple to collect mushrooms and chesnuts which is a very traditional activity done by the population of the town.
We are very much interested in art, therefore we try to promote the local art by co-working with artists from the area who want to exhibit their work, like paintings, photographs, sculptures for a period of time in our house. we also try to contact with professionals of the area to cooperate in projects and seminars related to activities such as yoga, macrobiotic cooking, ayurbeda and meditation.
