The house is the product of a single-minded desire to find a property in a spectacular and peaceful location, but still far from mass-tourism. A place where you won’t meet other tourists, where you’ll immediately feel part of the local culture and environment and, simply put, where you can have a holiday you can call your own.
Locals benefit greatly from bookings. Adnan runs a full day boat trip to see the wonders in the vicinity such as the sunken city. Fezay owns two gulet yachts should guests want to do a cruise. Suleyman does the airport transfers and the caretaker, Mehmet, and his family benefit from the cleaning and organisation involved in the changeovers. These are not just suppliers. They are people I have got to know over the years and have become friends. I know they will treat you in the same way.
The town of Demre (where the villa is located) makes its living largely from agriculture, and all our furniture and building materials are bought locally. Most food is therefore locally sourced, not forgetting absolutely delicious. There is also a weekly market where farmers bring in their produce from the surrounding area. Guests are encouraged to shop at the local markets for food, fruit and veg. Mehmet, the caretaker, and his wife can also prepare homemade and typical meals of the area upon request.
Environment
Efforts have been made to make the house as eco-friendly as possible. Solar energy has been installed, providing hot water to the whole house. The property also only uses energy saving light bulbs. Mehmet is happy to take back your glass bottles back to the shop for recycling. Food waste can also be given to Mehmet to feed his animals.
Fruit trees predominate in the small garden which means that no pesticides or chemical products are used. All in all, the house will provide a truly relaxing, authentic holiday while having a minimal impact on the environment and its surroundings.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
