Responsible tourism: Zealand farmstay accommodation, Denmark

The farm is ecological, and we are in the process of going CO2 neutral by using pellets for heating. We cannot unfortunately put up windmills due to the fact that we live in a nature preserve area.. but we do try the most to use as little heating as possible(and going CO2 neutral will help!)
We do use Ecolabel products for all cleaning and housemaintaining
Our horse are trained using horsemanship training, and live on open fields all year... Likewise for the goats
And needles to say.. that being ecological also menas that any pesticides are no-no also considering that the area is a water-reserve for all of Zeeland(inclusing Copenhagen) causes us to be very restrictive!
Breakfast is also completely ecological.
We are also very avid bicyclists in order to keep as low a carbon profile as possible... this also means that we do help bicyclists, walkers with shopping as the nearest shopping facility is 10 kilometers away
As an example of the way we treat the guest in a rural fashion:
When your children are about to experience a Danish summer

The countryside is so lovely, and we would like to share this experience with you. It is amusing to watch the children taking care of the pets we have. We can never tell how many animals we have, but we can assure you that we have rabbits, goats and cats that you can play with and care for.

I our garden you will find a fireplace and we can arrange mutual meals by the fire. Horseback riding is also avaible and canoo renting, hiking with guide, and other tourist activities can be arranged too. You are welcom to join in picking berries, apples etc. so you can make your own jam, elderberry soup or apple jelly.

We do appreciate new ideas for activities.

We support the local community by maintaining close working relationships with other local producers like Birkemosehus, the local honey producers and Kongskildenatur.
We do participate as much as possible in the local community, and do take part in the "Netværket Tystrup-Bavelse naturpark og Naturpark Åmosen"
As an example on the local cooperation:
Mini holidays at Tystrup-Bavelse Lake
4 days of experiencing nature, bike tours and relaxation for the whole family.
A stay at Hoerhavegaard B&B/ farm holidays including a bike trip to
Birkemosehus Farm Shop.

At Birkemosehus Anne Hjelm will talk about eco-farming, Gothlandish fur sheep and the numerous wool and hide products in the farm shop. You can bring your own bikes or rent bikes at Kongskilde Friluftsgård (open-air farm).

Furthermore you can make reservations for relaxing zone therapy at zone therapist Lisanna.
