Our New South Wales beach resort is located in a National Park and thus we have an acute awareness of our natural surroundings. Our resorts are designed to be eco-sensitive with the resort currently in the process of becoming Eco-Certified.
Our villas have been designed to have minimal impact on the environment with less lighting, heating and cooling used than conventional rooms. Energy efficient light globes are used throughout the resort and all exterior lighting is on timers. All cleaning products used are environmentally friendly and instead of cars staff use electricity-fuelled golf buggies around the resort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Rainwater and bore water is used and a state of the art Sewage Treatment Plant has just been installed. An extensive recycling program for glass and paper is in place and even kitchen oil is recycled.
We have invested in the world's latest technology for efficient waste water treatment to ensure tourism opportunities in the Eurobadalla shire for generations. Sewerage from this new plant will be treated to the highest global standards and will be recycled. Its operation is designed to leave a minimal footprint to ensure the natural beauty of the Murramarang National Park is retained.
The New South Wales beach resort has been commended for its installation of an eco-sensitive effluent management system by National Parks and Wildlife Service Regional Manager, Diane Garrood. The latest development demonstrates the resort's total commitment to its green mission statement: the resort is committed to managing ecosensitive hospitality businesses that minimise environmental impacts, lower energy consumption and greenhouse emissions and inspire staff and guests about the need to preserve Australia's natural heritage.
The resort is as much about community as it is the environment. Resort General Manager Kirk Edgar is a keen supporter and an active member of local community programs and organisations. Kirk is the Secretary of the local committee for Snowy Hydro SouthCare. Snowy Hydro SouthCare provides the aero-medical and rescue helicopter service to the Australian Capital Territory and the southeast region of New South Wales.
The resort is also a very proud sponsor of the Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF) and Dragons Abreast Australia (DAA), a separate organisation set up to focus on breast cancer awareness. We donate Prize Vouchers to fundraising events and raffles, supporting worthy causes such as cancer research.
As we treasure and blend in with our magnificent natural surrounds, we also admire and respect the wonderful communities which make up the NSW south coast, and we regularly collect donations for the Snowy Hydro South Care. We employ all local staff, buy local produce and use local services. We support tourism to the region and encourage our guests to visit local attractions such as Mogo Zoo and the Bird Land Animal Park. We support local schools and charities with prize donations for fund-raising events.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
