The most memorable part of our trip was most likely the scenery we loved the mountains and woodlands. The next was the food as Nick is no doubt an excellent chef and Dasha a specialist with deserts.
(more)I loved this little farm and the people who run the B&B. It was in a lovely spot by a stream...I loved my time in the area of the B&B. (more)The location itself was very quiet and peaceful, but only a short journey to the facilities of the nearest town. It was amusing to be greeted by the free range chickens each time we went out. (more)The peace and tranquillity were sublime. A lovely property with all the mod cons (even a coffee machine) however in wonderful rural surrounds. The garden of the property was a delight. The countryside of the Loire was beautiful, the village a short bike ride away. (more)Matt and Caroline made arrangements for us to ride, snowshoe and ski. We had never skied before and had thought that we were too old to try. However we went and took a couple of lessons and we loved it. (more)We were intrigued to stay in a house made of straw bales and to see how recycling/ reuse can be put into practice and good effect.- we were not disappointed! We found the photo albums showing the building of the house really interesting.

Very enjoyable... We really enjoyed a trip to a lake called 'Hintersee' nearby as it wasn't very touristy. Try to take the path less trodden. Memorable was the fantastic Welsh hospitality when a couple looked after our bikes while another lady - totally unknown to us - took us back to our accom to collect our car. Really friendly people! (more)
The most memorable parts were the glorious autumn sun on the turning leaves. Not New England, but very beautiful. And ambling along the white sandy beaches and having them to myself, more or less!

The scenery was tremendous and the weather cooperated beautifully in May month. Combining stays at pleasant easy to find bed and breakfasts with full days of hiking the Offa Dyke trail made for a memorable holiday. We loved being surrounded by historic French villages; staying in a beautiful rustic (but VERY comfortable) 19th century stone cottage; the warmth and approachability of our hosts Nicole and Alex Crawford; and being spoilt for choice when arranging our daily activities.
