Blue Mountains retreat, accommodation in Katoomba, Australia
The bedroom we chose was magic and I'll never forget going down the escarpment garden to the cliff walk at the bottom - that was brilliant. This accommodation completely excelled itself with the hamper and goodies that were provided. (more)
From AU $82 per person per night
Kangaroo Valley accommodation, Australia
It was wonderful! My favourite part was the verandah at night with the pond providing a lovely noisy backdrop (lots of frogs and nocturnal noises!).  (more)
From AU $280 per double room per night
Mission Beach backpackers accommodation
Most memorable was just sitting on the balcony in the sunshine with a coffee and a book and looking across the Coral Sea...and waking up to the sounds of the forest...and seeing several cassowary... and eating in the beautiful restaurant. (more)
From AU $33 - AU $65 per double room per night

Celebrate 30 years of Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness with this Free Tasmania app for iPhone

QR code30 years ago the Tasmanian Southwest Wilderness was listed as a World Heritage Site, the only place on earth to fulfil seven out of the ten criteria, bringing to a successful conclusion a world wide campaign that saw environmental activists protesting to save Tasmania's natural heritage from being sold down the river.

To celebrate this landmark decision that put Tasmania on the eco-tourism map, Tourism Tasmania (in association with responsibletravel.com) is inviting travellers to explore the diverse natural wilderness with a unique iPhone app that showcases the best that Tassie has to offer.
