Scenic and serene, our stay was idyllic. Aside from the beautiful location, our hosts - Trevor and Debbie Benton - made us feel so comfortable and welcome that it felt like home.

Some fabulous restaurants in chiavenna and wonderful food and drink, simply gorgeous views, fresh air and zillions of places to go and see from lakes to quaint villages to deserted mountain treks (more)Matt and Caroline made arrangements for us to ride, snowshoe and ski. We had never skied before and had thought that we were too old to try. However we went and took a couple of lessons and we loved it. (more)There were lots of memorable moments:- from lovely walks, beautiful surroundings of the hotel, really lovely owners, Ilaria and Derek, who couldn't have been more helpful, beautiful starry night sky and lots of different types of wild birds to be seen nearby.

(more)The mountains, local environment and seeing an Eagle were the highlights...Self catering cottage looks very comfortable, we had a tour of the cottage, but stayed in the hotel which was equally good. (more)This really was the best holiday we have ever had, we have struggled in the past to find somewhere that everyone enjoys which is difficult with young active children, but this accommodation and Ithaca really did mean we relaxed and enjoyed time with them whilst they also had a great time. None of us wanted to leave and we will definitely go back.
(more)We loved being surrounded by historic French villages; staying in a beautiful rustic (but VERY comfortable) 19th century stone cottage; the warmth and approachability of our hosts Nicole and Alex Crawford; and being spoilt for choice when arranging our daily activities.
