A lovely family holiday or romantic getaway, off the beaten track, true Italy at its best. Some fabulous restaurants in chiavenna and wonderful food and drink, simply gorgeous views, fresh air and zillions of places to go and see from lakes to quaint villages to deserted mountain treks
(more)We could not have hoped for a better holiday. This was our first time in Sardinia, our first farm holiday, away from the beaten tracks. We spent a week and rested so much that we feel as if we've been away for months. (more)Perfect - the best week's holiday we've ever had. Firstly the accommodation and the town of Capena itself. Such a beautiful, timeless place. We had a day of cooking at the apartment which was great fun. I also had the pleasure of visiting a shepherd making cheese on a hillside and of visiting the local Santa Anastasia Winery, where they give an outstanding tour. The accommodation was beautiful and Francesco and Monia (the owners) took great care refurbishing the old farm house, being sensitive to the architecture, nature and the Umbrian tradition. The best part was undoubtedly the food. Practically everything on your plate comes from the estate, whether it be pork from their rare breed pigs or wild boar, vegetables from the garden or olive oil from the olive groves. (more)

Arriving at this accommodation and finding out it was a beautiful location and the farmhouse accommodation was perfect. Our children loved the pool and the farm's pets. (more)
We really liked the area and the people were very friendly and helpful, for instance arranging for us to go riding in the mountains on horses and mountain bikes.
