Kanha is Kipling country. The 940 sq km national park and tiger reserve inspired his Jungle Book, and visitors today can appreciate the rolling grasslands and bamboo forests. You’ll want to watch wildlife on a Kanha holiday, and with 22 species of mammals including tigers, striped hyenas, leopards, jackals, otters, civets, bears and the rare hardground barasingha, you won’t be disappointed.

These full and frank independent Kanha accommodation reviews are from travellers who have booked directly through responsibletravel.com. They are not edited by us or any of the companies we work with. Find the real story, from real travellers below.

Our tiger sightings (5 in 3 days at Kanha) were amazing. Peering through the edge of the forest to see a tiger looking back at you only a few metres away is something you won't forget... I'm absolutely sold on India and plan to go back.
